Product Review: XXX Raceblade Fenders

Removable and lightweight, these fenders are a great product. If you live in a region where it rains consistently, as I do, you can leave them on your bicycle as long as you want. Yet when the weather decides to show you some sun, you can take these babies right off with no trouble at all. It's quick, and neither the installation nor the removal leave any scuffs on your frame. For those areas where the rain is off and on, they can easily be removed and put back on when the rain begins again. The elastic strap mechanisms provide for quick and easy application to the fork blades and seat stay, eliminating a possible daunting task from the equation.

These fenders provide a reasonable amount of coverage considering the low profile. They keep the mud off your back and the optional rubber extensions add an extra few inches. In my case, I've left them off, but they are just as low profile as the rest of the package and require no extra labor to install.

Night Time Riding

Night rides are where it's at these days. I work all day, and am exhausted when I get home. Taking a few hours to unwind and make some dinner while watching reruns of the office or saturday night live is just what I need, and after that I'm always in the mood for a little night riding.

Night rides are where it's at, cruising around the neighborhood, most traffic is easily spotted with headlights which actually makes it much safer, in my opinion. I ride with lights as well, but it's never been my priority to be seen because I watch out for myself. Hiding when I want to hide, being seen only when I want to be seen. Riding alone feels more solitary at night and in many ways its my time to relax, unwind from the day, and think shit over.
